You were the one I thought I’d spend my life with
But our “happily ever after” was a myth
I thought I knew you, everything about you
But your lies have been seen through
It hurts because above all else you were my best friend
That one person I could always depend
Now our friendship must cease
Leaving my broken heart in one piece
But at least now I know the truth
And am sure of what’s it’s my view

Betrayal sucks mad donkey dong! It kills something precious inside a corner of the spirit. Whatever he did, I hope he makes it thru this crisis, intact.
However, you, JStar, have all the tools needed to get thru this & most any soul-crushing disappointment. The cure lies in your ability to express & to narrate your interior, & in doing so, you can emerge from the other side of it. That's a powerful gift! Never treat it lightly!

i can relate to this poem.
Sometimes, ya need to know when to shake hands and let them on their way and when to hold their hands. Good thing you know who he REALLY is now.
So many good comments already... I hope the content is not drawn from anything currently going on in your life. I know that when I get on a ramble that I occasionally preface or qualify an entry with 'jus' sayin'', so that folks don't think I am talking about 'me'.
