Senseless

Senseless

As the round of shots rang out
I heard her scream and shout
Then I heard another round shatter
Bodies scattered
No longer able to scream
Lost hopes and dreams
Lives lost
For what cost
Senseless crimes
Influencing young kids minds
Thats all they know
All they have been shown
When do you get used to hearing the sirens
When do you get used to guns firing
Futures no longer reflected
Senseless acts of crime expected

Hearing others tell it, they are and expect it...Although its what I grew up to and around...death and violence is something that I can NEVER get used to...Is it that I try to see the good in people, even when they cant see it themselves...

I'm sorry that you had to experience that. I hope that her screams will fade in your mind soon.

Thanks Senorita. But I really doubt it, its constant here. I have seen and heard sooo much that those memories will never fade. I am just tired of it all...Its something I can NEVER get used to

Oh my, the way the human mind is able to adapt! Your poem is a voice crying in the wind, beautiful but so often unanswered. I love your writing.

Sounds like my life growing up without faith and weird imagination I don't know what I would have done. U do at one point grow numb to the senseless violence which Is how I started putting pen to paper. After a while you have a hard time expressing yourself, so I do it by writing. Great Post!

Thanks Champ...Well I will be 35 this year, and grew up around violence...I know you know what I am talking bout, Bmore is just as bad as DC...I have heard and seen sooo much, and I still cant accept it...Its just Senseless...

What a world now, some people live with these sounds every day. Nice writing and in some case so true.

This is terrible Jo. You will never
get used to sadness such as this
because you have too much compassion. Your prayers have
helped this poor women's soul.

God bless you and your daughters.

Oh my, I am sooo sheltered on this side of the world (even though most people think I live surrounded by terrorists)... It is so sad that you have to experience this.. sad that anybody would.
